Inaugural MA! BLOG!
Howdy, and welcome to the Inaugural MA! Blog!
This is Janalee, the writer-half of the writer/artist duo that makes up MA! The other half — the half that makes everything look so good — is Tiffany. She may chime in from time to time, but seeing as how she’s typically working on our next product and simultaneously nursing her 6-month-old at her desk, her writing time may be limited!
So, I must confess that it’s taken me a while to start this Blog. Our fabulous web programmer, Maida Carpio Scott, set this up — ohhhhhh — MONTHS ago, but I felt like my first entry had to be brilliant, so I froze up. I’ve since decided that I should just write about what’s happening in my mommy life at the moment…
Which is this:
My oldest daughter just turned six. And I have already decided that six-year-olds are just plain WEIRD! I feel like an alien has landed in my home. She’s testing out new senses of humor (minus the punch lines), new responsibilities (minus the dexterity), and new fashion styles (minus the “matching”). I find myself staring at her agog, giggling despite myself, and wondering if this will all shake out into something relatively normal or if she’s destined for oddity… like her mother.
MA! MUSINGS
Every now and then I will write about the challenges and excitements that Tiffany and I are facing in our little business. The great thing about the two of us is that we are very passionate about this company, believing that our products help moms take this whole journey a little less seriously, and therefore, enjoy it more. The tough thing is that we are both intermittently impatient, forgetting that this business is still in its infancy! Tiffany had her second baby, Emerson, one week after our cards were delivered from the printer. Double delivery. So, sometimes, to remind myself of our company’s youth, I stare at little Emmi. She’s barely on solids! I think it’s ok if we haven’t been on Oprah yet.
But when Emmi starts walking…
Here is Emmi, the infant-embodiment of our company. See how young we are!?
