Dave recently dropped the girls at school and was commenting on a piece of Allie’s art in her preschool class. He was struggling to find the right words to make her feel great about this piece of art but he had no idea what it was…
DAVE: Allie! I love it!… What is it?
ALLIE: It’s a horse!
DAVE: Of course! A horse! And what are these right here?
ALLIE: Daaaaaaaad. Those are his feathers!
LOVE this! Wow–sometimes we just don’t know how much we don’t know, do we?

Also, to Lynn Miller, the woman whose photo was under my Megan’s–regarding lonely motherhood–Girl, I am WITH you! I hope you can experience a level of support this year, and that the loneliness won’t last. It can be so crippling. Please feel free to write if you need to talk.
