Well, since I shared my lovely story from Kohl’s, I need to share a similar story for Dave.
He and the girls were recently swimming and he was sprawled tummy-down on top of an inner tube. He pointed down at his shadow at the bottom of the pool and said…
DAVE: “Look, Allie! My shadow looks like a big turtle!”
ALLIE: (studies shadow then says in matter-of-fact voice): “No, Dad. It looks like a fat man.”
Ah, imagination at its best! ;)

My sweet little daughters have often hit me with some of their brutally honest comments (you know like how my butt “jingles” when I walk, or how my face looks like wrinkled up paper when I laugh). These comments have been directed to me only, eluding my dear husband…until recently. He was playing “piggies” with our youngest, who is 3. She made a comment about a chubby little piggy, to which he said, “Kind of like your daddy!” Our sweet little girl looked at him, and said, so kindly, so sweetly, “You’re not chubby, daddy… you’re really…really…fat!” Priceless!
