Geri: Mother of 3-year-old twins girls, and a 1-year-old baby boy
My children are wild, my work is crazy, my life is overwhelming at times, but it's all mine, and I love every minute of it! I work as a Financial Aid Advisor, and am the mother to 3-year-old twin girls, Saniya and Saadia, and a 1-year-old boy, Silas. They keep my hands full, my heart over flowing, and everyone entertained!

Blogger’s Block

September 3, 2009 — geri @ 10:29 am

Is it possible to suffer from Blogger’s Block? Is there such a thing? By definition a “Blog” is nothing more than an online diary. All you really do is write about life’s ups and downs. So why is it suddenly so hard for me to come up with things to write about? I still have kids… that alone should supply me with endless material. Yet, some how, I have had nothing to say for quite some time.

I’ve been thinking back about this summer, trying to remember what in the world I’ve been doing that has kept me so busy. The answer?? Facebook! I know I am not alone, Facebook is addicting. I log on every morning and peek into the lives of my friends and family. I see what they are doing, and share stories from my own crazy life.

Looking at my status updates, over the last couple of months, I have to admit, my life is still NUTS!! Here are a few highlights…

  • Tonight Saadia (3yrs) told me that if a zombie ate her, she “probably” wouldn’t be his friend any more….probably? SMH

  • Geri suggests being a tourist in your own town. This weekend I rented a hotel suite in my own town, ate at new places and took a tour of the city. I was 3 blocks away from home the whole time, but I feel like I’ve been away. ;0)

  • Geri just spoke to a student on the phone, she asked me should she sign *here* or *here*… does she think I can see her paper?? SMH… I gotta get out of here.

  • Geri knows that she is really punishing herself by taking away TV, and canceling swimming. But these girls need to learn! Pray for me…

  • Geri just spoke to a woman who described herself as a “murder victim”… please tell me how that is even possible?

  • Geri is looking for Pre-School/Boot Camps… anyone know of a good one??

  • Geri urges you not to eat 10 day old Chili. *groan*

  • Geri wants to live in a world where sleeping late doesn’t mean 7:30am, and where my alarm clock goes “beep beep beep”, instead of “Mooooommy!!!”

  • Geri is amazed and slightly concerned that her 17 month old said “Silas, where are you? I’m right here!!” Its one thing to talk to yourself, but another to actually answer!! Still, very impressive for his age. :o)

  • Geri was called a “Caucasian Bitch” by a student today. Tonight, I’m going to eat some fried chicken, greens and watermelon, then watch a few episodes of “Good Times”, because tomorrow I hope to be called the right kind of Bitch.

  • Geri is blessed to be stressed. I’m thankful to have all of the things that stress me. (kids, AB, money, work, etc) Feel me?

  • Geri used AB’s ATM card this morning and left it in the machine by accident. I went back to the bank tonight and they wouldn’t give it to me. So now I have to tell him that #1, I took his card, and #2, I lost it. Is it bad that I’m more afraid that he’ll hide the card from me, than I am of him being mad?

  • Geri just told the kids it was time to clean up. Saniya says “Why? Who’s coming?” LMAO!! That’s not the ONLY time I clean, but…

  • Geri kicked Saniya in the face, by accident. She was hiding under my bed and grabbed my foot. It scared the SH!T out of me, I almost crapped my pants! She was fine, it didn’t even phase her. I, on the other hand, may have had a stroke.

  • Geri is on her way to register the girls for Dance. *sigh* I pay $30 per child per month, a $25 registration fee (per child), another $25 each for new tap shoes, about $100 each for costumes, and lets not forget the fund raisers.. PLUS (this is the best part!!) I get to leave work every Monday to bring them, then sit and watch as they twirl around, pick their wedgies and lift their skirts… all before going back to work for the rest of the day. And that’s just on Monday’s. Tuesdays and Thursdays they have preschool, where I’ll get to watch the paste eating and paint flinging! Aahhhh, good times, goooood times. LOL

So that should have brought you all up to speed on my life. The kids are still wild, work is still crazy, life is still overwhelming at times, and I’m still laughing my way through it all. It feels good being me. :o)

  2. The wonderful thing about blogging is that you are creating a record of your life. If you think you love being you now, wait until, say, a year from now. Come back and read this very entry and you will love being you even more, I guarantee it!
